Photo Forensics Lab
Four classic forensic tests for "has this photo been manipulated?", all running locally in your browser. Error Level Analysis re-compresses the image and shows where the error pattern breaks — pasted or retouched regions often glow. The JPEG ghost curve reveals how many times and at what quality the file was compressed. Clone detection finds regions copied within the same image, the signature of object removal. And the quantization tables read straight from the file bytes fingerprint the software that last saved it.
Runs 100% in your browser — images never leave your device.

Notes
- ELA is a lead generator, not a verdict: uniform noise is normal, and re-saves flatten everything. Look for sharp, object-shaped differences against a quiet background.
- Screenshots, PNG exports and social-media re-encodes destroy most JPEG evidence — forensics works best on original camera files.
- Clone detection compares small blocks across the whole image; flat sky or repeating textures can match innocently. Matches connected by long parallel arrows are the interesting ones.
- Everything runs locally in your browser; your images are never uploaded to any server.
