Fantasy Map Generator
Generates a complete fantasy world from a single seed: layered noise builds the terrain, sea level carves the coastline, rain flows downhill into branching rivers, and a climate model assigns biomes — tundra, taiga, forest, grassland, desert, jungle — by temperature and moisture. Towns appear where geography favors them (river mouths, coasts, fertile land) and a syllable engine names them in styles from Norse to Desert trader. Choose the map style — colored atlas, parchment campaign map or clean heightmap — adjust sea level, mountain scale, rivers and climate, then export a high-resolution PNG for your table, novel or world-building wiki.

Notes
- The terrain is fractal (fBm) noise shaped by a radial falloff, which is why every seed gives a continent with believable bays and headlands: real coastlines are statistically fractal too.
- Rivers are honest hydrology on the generated terrain: each cell drains to its lowest neighbour, flow accumulates downstream, and a river is drawn wherever accumulated flow crosses a threshold — so rivers always run downhill and merge like the real thing.
- Biomes follow a simplified Whittaker diagram: temperature falls with latitude and altitude, moisture comes from noise plus river proximity, and the pair picks the biome — the same logic climate scientists use to classify real ecosystems.
